DOULA terms
of service
Scope of Services
Niand Company agrees to provide non-medical physical, emotional, and informational support during pregnancy, labor, and the postpartum period.
Services may include:

Prenatal visits and preparation

Continuous labor and birth support

Postpartum visits
-
Referrals to appropriate healthcare professionals as needed
The Doula does not perform medical tasks, diagnose conditions, or replace professional medical care. All medical decisions are the sole responsibility of the Client and their healthcare providers.
Fees and Payment
Failure to pay fees as agreed may result in termination of services.

A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the agreed amount is required to reserve your doula services and confirm your booking. This deposit will be deducted from the total fee.

The deposit is due upon signing the contract and is required to secure your spot on the doula's calendar.

Payments can be paid via cash, cashapp or check
Payment Plans (if applicable)

If you are opting for a payment plan, please ensure all payments are made on time as agreed. Failure to make timely payments will result in an addition fee of $25 for each day the payment is late.

Upon request, I will provide receipts for all payments made. Payment records will be kept confidential and stored securely.
Additional Charges

Additional services outside of the contracted scope (such as extra prenatal visits or extended postpartum support) will be billed at $50.00 an hour for a minimum of 2hrs.
Emergency Labor Support
If labor occurs before the scheduled due date, I will make every effort to attend the birth, but an additional fee may apply for short-notice services or if my services need to be provided during off-hours (e.g., late-night/early-morning births)
Cancellations and Refunds

If the Client cancels services before labor support begins, the retainer is non-refundable.

If the Doula misses the birth due to circumstances beyond her control (e.g., rapid labor, client failing to call, or medical emergency)

If the Doula is unable to attend the birth due to illness or emergency, a backup doula will be arranged if possible.
Communication and Availability
The Doula is on call 24/7 starting at 37 weeks gestation until the baby is born.
The Client agrees to notify the Doula at the first signs of labor or other significant developments. Please notify Doula in a situation of pre-term labor and will try their best to make adjustments to the schedule.
Client Responsibilities
The Client agrees to:

Keep open communication with the Doula.

Inform the Doula of any changes in due date, health or birth location.

Consult with healthcare providers for all medical concerns.
Confidentiality
All information shared by the Client will be kept confidential except where disclosure is required by law.
Liability and Disclaimer
The Client acknowledges that the Doula is not a medical professional and that outcomes of pregnancy, labor, and birth are outside the Doula’s control.
The Client agrees to hold the Doula harmless for any injury, loss, or outcome arising from services provided.
Termination of Services
Either party may terminate the agreement with written notice.
If terminated by the Client after services have begun, payments made are non-refundable.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State/Province of California.

1. Purpose
This Service Policy outlines the standards, responsibilities, and expectations governing the professional relationship between Nia & Co and its clients. Our goal is to ensure every client receives high-quality, ethical, and compassionate care through our doula and skincare services.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all services provided by Nia & Co, including but not limited to:

Doula Services: Birth, postpartum, and emotional support for expecting and new parents.

Skincare Services: Facials, treatments, and skincare consultations performed by licensed professionals.
3. Service Standards
Nia & Co is committed to:

Providing professional, safe, and evidence-based care.

Maintaining a clean, hygienic, and welcoming environment.

Treating every client with respect, dignity, and confidentiality.

Offering services only within the scope of professional training and certification.

Using high-quality, approved products and maintaining appropriate sanitation protocols.
4. Client Responsibilities
Clients are expected to:

Provide accurate and complete information regarding their health, allergies, pregnancy, or skin conditions.

Communicate openly with their provider about concerns, preferences, or changes in condition.
-
Arrive on time for appointments or notify Nia & Co of delays.
-
Treat all staff and practitioners with respect and professionalism.
5. Appointments, Cancellations, and Refunds

Booking: Appointments are confirmed once payment or a deposit (if applicable) is received.

Cancellations: A minimum of 24–48 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Late cancellations may result in a fee equal to a portion or full cost of the scheduled service.

No-Shows: Clients who fail to attend without prior notice may forfeit their deposit or be required to prepay for future sessions.

Refunds:

Refunds are not typically issued for completed services, as results may vary per individual.

Prepaid services or packages may be refundable at the discretion of management under exceptional circumstances.

Doula Services: Deposits are non-refundable after the agreed-upon commitment date, as scheduling and availability are limited.
6. Confidentiality and Privacy

All client information, records, and communications are strictly confidential and will not be shared without written consent, except as required by law.

Doula and skincare practitioners will maintain professional boundaries and ensure private discussions remain secure.

Digital communications (emails, messages, forms) are stored securely and used only for service-related purposes.
7. Client Consent
Prior to receiving any service, clients must complete and sign the relevant consent and intake forms.
By signing, clients acknowledge:

They have disclosed all relevant health information.

They understand the nature of the service being provided.
-
They consent to treatment and accept any associated risks or outcomes.

For doula clients: The doula provides emotional, physical, and informational support - - not medical care or advice.
8. Health and Safety

Practitioners follow hygiene and sanitation protocols in compliance with local health regulations.

Any client showing signs of illness, infection, or contraindications may be asked to reschedule.

Nia & Co reserves the right to refuse service if it may compromise the health or safety of the client or practitioner.
9. Liability

Services are provided in good faith and with professional care; however, Nia & Co is not liable for outcomes beyond reasonable control, including individual reactions or medical complications.

Clients are encouraged to consult their healthcare provider before beginning new treatments or skincare routines.
10. Code of Conduct

Harassment, discrimination, or disrespectful behavior toward staff or clients will not be tolerated.

Practitioners will maintain ethical conduct in accordance with professional standards for doulas and estheticians.
11. Policy Updates
Nia & Co reserves the right to amend this Service Policy at any time. Updates will be communicated via our website or in writing to clients as applicable.
Acknowledgment
By booking and receiving services from Nia & Co, clients acknowledge they have read, understood, and agreed to abide by the terms outlined in this Service Policy.
